Young residents of Las Vegas, mark your calendars for a special celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The city is inviting local teens, aged 14 to 16, to register for a chance to be part of the free community quinceañera event scheduled for October 11.
An announcement on the City of Las Vegas website indicates that there's no charge to throw your name into the hat for this festive rite of passage; however, registrations must be submitted by September 8. Ten lucky winners, who must live within Las Vegas city limits, will be selected through a random drawing.
The celebratory event is set to take place at the East Las Vegas Community Center located at 250 N. Eastern Ave., from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Each winner will be able to invite 12 guests, whether friends or family, to partake in a night of traditional culture and joy.
The evening promises to be a memorable one, featuring live mariachi music, additional entertainment, and a dinner for 13 for each winner. According to the city's announcement, celebrations will also include DJ music for dancing the night away, making it a fully immersive and culturally rich experience for all attendees.
