Joining AmeriCorps means joining a proud tradition of more than 200,000 Americans annually who dedicate themselves to advancing the public good.
According to the City of Las Vegas, with a variety of part-time positions available across nine-month and 11-month service terms, the AmeriCorps members in Las Vegas will be tasked with pivotal roles. From the Batteries Included/NextGen youth leadership program, which ensures teens achieve their full potential through educational and life skills activities to the Community Navigator Program that connects families to essential resources in high-need communities. Tech-savvy individuals can find their niche in the Strong Future Technology training program, supporting 16- to 24-year-olds in gaining demand-driven tech skills.
The opportunities continue with ReInvent Schools, which improves student academic success; Strong Start GO Ambassadors, who bring early education directly to children and their families; and Strong Start Ambassadors, who offer academic intervention and resource assistance to elementary students. Outside of direct educational interventions, potential Community Affairs Ambassadors are recruited to boost community event participation, and a Youth Fire Prevention Assistant role teaches fire safety to youngsters.
