A residence in the Spring neighborhood of northwest Harris County was the scene of a fire caused by a lightning strike earlier today, as first responders rushed to the scene. The blaze began after the home, located in the 6800 block of Antique Cedar Lane, was hit directly by a lightning bolt, as per a report by CW39.
Teams from the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, along with units from the Spring Fire Department and the Magnolia Fire Department, quickly arrived at the scene to tackle the fire. While responders acted swiftly to quell the flames, the full extent of the home's damage has yet to be disclosed. Fortunately, KPRC 2 reported that the fire has been extinguished. Amidst the charred rubble and fading smoke, there is a story of luck—or perhaps fortune—as nobody was injured.
Visuals from the scene were captured by a local resident, Kent Barry, lending a glimpse of the fiery havoc that unfolded as nature's electricity found its unfortunate mark. The Spring and Magnolia Fire Departments have not yet released details on the cause beyond the lightning strike or what may have fueled the fire further within the home's structure.
