A teenager in Long Beach was hospitalized following a stabbing incident, which occurred in the 100 block of Pacific Avenue last Sunday. According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 5:42 p.m. after receiving reports of the stabbing. The victim, a 16-year-old male, suffered non-life-threatening wounds to his upper body and was subsequently transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department personnel.
The suspect in the stabbing, identified as 34-year-old Christopher Ivan Gonzalez of Long Beach, allegedly tried to quickly flee the scene but was apprehended by police. During the arrest, Gonzalez reportedly became combative and assaulted an officer, who fortunately did not sustain any injuries, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.
Gonzalez is now facing multiple charges, including attempted murder and resisting arrest with violence. Bail for Gonzalez was set at $1,000,000.
