The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in locating two missing children, 11-year-old Juaquin Vides and 8-year-old Aastha Vides, both reported as victims of a parental abduction in South Los Angeles. According to the LASD - Los Angeles County Sheriffs Dept Information Bureau from the Sheriff's Information Bureau, the siblings were last seen last Friday, at around 6:00 p.m. on the 1000 block of W. 88th Street.
Juaquin, described as a male Hispanic at 3’08” and weighing 49lbs, has black hair and brown eyes and was wearing a blue t-shirt with a yellow stripe. His sister Aastha, a female Hispanic at 3’06” and 35lbs, also has black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a green t-shirt adorned with white flowers, as stated by the LASD. The alert notes she can be identified by a birthmark on her left foot. They were last seen accompanying their father, Juaquin Vides Sr., a 35-year-old deaf/mute male Hispanic, and another suspect, 53-year-old Sylvia Gonzalez.
The authorities have information indicating that the children and suspects were traveling in a 2012 green Mazda 2 with California license plate number 9DRV087, and they may be heading towards San Jose. The family has expressed concern for their children's well-being and hopes that public support will lead to a swift and safe return.
