A serious collision this morning on I-95 in Cecil County has led to significant traffic disruptions and full lane closures. According to WMAR2 News, the accident occurred at around 6:30 am near Perryville.
Northbound traffic was halted between MD-222 and MD-272, while southbound traffic faced a temporary closure between these points for the medevac to land, but those lanes have now reopened. For travelers navigating the congested sprawl, US-40 has been suggested as an alternate route, and should they have initially sought passage across the Tydings Bridge, it is recommended to pivot to the Hatem Bridge or the Conowingo Dam instead.
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) has provided further insight into the crash's impact. It happened before Exit 100 at Maryland Route 272, near mile marker 99.2 on the northbound lanes. In a statement obtained by FOX Baltimore, they have confirmed that traffic on the I-95 has been compromised in both directions due to the crash.
