A man has been charged in the fatal shooting at 3900 Old Spanish Trail that occurred on the evening of July 27, according to an official report. Morris Nickerson, 47, faces murder charges in the 182nd State District Court in connection with the death of Andrea Jacobs, 53, who was found by HPD officers unresponsive in his vehicle, later pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement made by the HPD Homicide Division, Sergeant C. Lamont, along with Detectives C. Davidson and R. Bounds reported that officers were called to respond to the shooting after the victim had a verbal altercation with Nickerson which led to the tragic incident, Nickerson then fled in an unknown direction.
