
Early Tuesday morning, a fire tore through a triplex in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles, leaving a 32-year-old man critically injured. According to KTLA, the blaze began shortly after 4 a.m. in the 1800 block of Arapahoe Street.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was able to contain the fire to just that unit, preventing further damage to the neighboring residences. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found in critical condition and quickly transported to an area hospital for treatment, as per KTLA.
Details concerning the patient's current condition remain undisclosed, with officials focusing on the swift response of emergency services. The LAFD's incident alert highlighted that "first-arriving companies quickly extinguished flames in one unit of a single-story triplex, declaring knockdown in 13 minutes from the initial 911 call."
