
A man has lost his life in a stabbing following an altercation on a Harlem street. NYPD and local sources report that a 30-year-old was fatally wounded near 380 Convent Ave. earlier today, as PIX11 disclosed.
At approximately 1:25 a.m., police arrived at the scene in response to an assault call, where they discovered the victim with seven stab wounds and although he was swiftly transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, his injuries proved fatal and the man was pronounced dead, AMNY documented the events. Law enforcement sources reported that a heated exchange involving at least three men escalated into fatal violence, with one man punching the victim before another drew a knife and stabbed him.
The detectives are currently on the hunt for the suspects, with descriptions pointing to three men in black clothing, one with dreadlocks, sporting a fanny pack. No arrests have been announced at this time.
According to police data, this recent incident marks the second homicide of the year within the 30th Precinct, which covers Hamilton Heights, Sugar Hill, and West Harlem. The motive behind the altercation and subsequent stabbing remains under investigation.
