According to the details provided by the official report, the man was riding his bicycle across Pacific Place when he was struck by a 2012 Toyota Corolla traveling northbound. The collision did not occur at a designated crosswalk. The force of impact left the man with injuries so severe that, despite the rapid response and efforts made by the Long Beach Fire Department personnel, he later died at a local hospital.
The driver of the Corolla, whose identity has not been disclosed, remained at the scene and is said to have fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation by the Collision Investigation Detail.
