A tragedy unfolded near Boulder Falls this past week, as a male was found deceased on the east side of the popular hiking location. Details surfaced after the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office released a statement, including that two Apple Alert SOS notifications were received on Tuesday, around 12:51 p.m., followed swiftly by a 911 call from an individual who discovered the body.
Responders from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, local park rangers, and an emergency medical team arrived at the scene to find an unresponsive man. Efforts to revive the individual were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead by the first responders. "The male was pronounced to be deceased on scene by first responders," according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. Complications due to the area's difficult terrain necessitated assistance from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group to recover the decedent.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with detectives, a crime scene investigator, a drone operator, and an emergency services coordinator all being dispatched. However, officials have stated that the death does not appear suspicious at this time.
The Boulder County Coroner's Office is tasked with determining the cause and manner of death, and will be releasing the identity of the man once the next of kin have been duly notified.
