Early Friday morning, a man in his 30s was discovered with a gunshot wound in the back inside a home in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood. According to WPXI, the incident prompted a response from police to the 1400 block of North Murtland Street shortly after 2 a.m.
Upon their arrival, first responders rushed the injured man to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, though initially there was confusion about whether the man was located inside or outside of the residence. Still, it was the CBS News report that clarified the shooting happened indoors.
The suspect, described by police as a man in his late 30s, had already fled the scene by the time authorities arrived. Pittsburgh police are currently continuing their investigation into the incident, as the search for the suspected shooter remains ongoing.
