The firefighter, and the other resident who were also injured but, they are anticipated to be okay.
The blaze, which was contained before it could spread to the attic or neighboring units, is under investigation. Authorities are calling for anyone with information to come forward. In a separate but related incident, crews attended to a high-rise at 655 NW Hoyt St. following a report of a fire, according to KATU. Thankfully, the situation involved no visible flames upon the arrival of Engine 4, though fire alarms were sounding.
An investigation within the building revealed that incense had been left unattended and ignited some nearby paper items on the fifth floor. The small fire was quickly extinguished, not even requiring the activation of the building's sprinkler system.
