
A man was left seriously injured after a shooting in the Belltown neighborhood earlier today. The Seattle Police Department responded to an incident that occurred at approximately 1:57 a.m. in an alley north of 66 Bell Street. According to the Seattle Police Blotter, a 20-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
The injured man was given immediate aid by the officers at the scene before being transferred to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire Department medics, where he was reported to be in serious condition. The authorities have since been canvassing the area for the suspect, who remains at large following the shooting.
In a follow-up to the initial response, detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit have taken charge of the investigation, attempting to uncover the circumstances that led to this act of violence. The Seattle Police Department is actively seeking information and has urged anyone with knowledge pertaining to the incident to come forward and contact the Violent Crimes Tip Line.
