
An altercation aboard the 2 train in the Bronx left a man with a slashed neck yesterday, according to police reports. The incident, which occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. near the Bronx Park East station, involved a woman unknown to the 33-year-old male victim. Authorities stated that the suspect, who fled the scene post-assault, was sporting a yellow shirt and red and yellow sneakers. Before becoming physical, the victim and his alleged assailant were caught up in a "verbal dispute" described by area law enforcement. Having reached a violent conclusion of their exchange, the woman, employing a sharp object that has yet to be identified, inflicted a serious wound to the man's neck. Despite the gravity of the situation, the victim managed to exit the train at the stop, in a statement obtained by AMNY.
Following the attack, the victim was transported to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition after emergency medical services responded promptly to the scene. The man, who sustained a bleeding laceration, received immediate medical care.
Current efforts by the NYPD are focused on apprehending the female suspect, described as having a medium complexion. Local authorities continue their investigation into the incident, putting out calls for any information that might lead to an arrest.
