Residents of the Vue Apartments on Chagrin Boulevard in Beachwood awoke to a scene of crime and urgency early this morning when a burglary escalated into a shooting. At approximately 1:45 a.m., Beachwood Police were called to the complex located at 23220 Chagrin Boulevard following reports of a shooting in the post-midnight quiet. As detailed by FOX8, police responded to the incident, which initiated with a burglary involving a "known individual" and rapidly spiraled into violence.
According to the Beachwood Police release, a 26-year-old man from Maple Heights was shot in the wake of the burglary. The police managed to quickly and efficiently identify a person of interest in connection with the crime, and within the short frame of an hour, had the suspect in custody.
