
Tragedy struck Melbourne last Friday when a shooting in a residential neighborhood claimed the life of a 2-year-old child and left two adults critically injured. According to WFTV, Melbourne Police responded to the incident at a Poplar Lane home at approximately 10:51 p.m. and discovered the three victims with gunshot wounds.
Despite the rapid response of law enforcement and emergency services, the 2-year-old child, later identified by family members as Bless'yn, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two adults, reported to have been taken to the hospital, remain in critical condition. A statement detailed by WESH indicates that the victims are related, with the adults being the grandparents of the young girl.
The Melbourne Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the shooting. However, details about the circumstances leading up to the violence or any potential suspects have not yet been released.
