Memphis police are searching for a suspect involved in an aggravated assault at Smoke & Vape, located at 1379 Lamar Avenue. According to an incident report on the Memphis Police Department’s website, the confrontation occurred on August 6, around 6:22 p.m.
Responding personnel were told that a male suspect—wearing a red beanie, gray hooded jacket, and black jeans—was involved in a verbal altercation with the store’s cashier, during which he brandished a firearm.
The man, after the heated exchange, left the premises without further incident; however, he was captured by camera footage pointing the gun at the cashier prior to his departure. Now identified, the suspect departed the scene in a black 2007 Lexus 350 with the Tennessee license plate 8IA188, as per the same report. The authorities are urging the public to come forward with any pertinent information that could assist in apprehending the individual, with Memphis Police stating that tips can be directed to Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
