During a recent push to curb drunk driving, the Mesquite Police Department ramped up its efforts as part of MADD's Saturation Saturday. Announced through the Mesquite Police Department's social media post, the initiative's statistics indicate a notable increase in law enforcement activity over the weekend.
With the aid of additional DWI units, the Mesquite Police Department conducted 40 traffic stops that resulted in 19 DWI arrests and 3 other arrests. According to their report, patrolling officers managed to recover three guns and seize 4.25 ounces of drugs, as well as handing out nine citations. All involved in the heightened patrols received praise for their "GREAT WORK," as hailed by the Mesquite Police Department.
