Midland residents will soon face changes in their commute as Eastman Avenue is scheduled for a major reconstruction project. According to WNEM, the construction is slated to kick off on August 18 and will span from the northerly driveway of the Midland Mall to Commerce Drive. The project, expected to wrap by the end of October, will include not only repaving but also storm sewer modifications and replacement of concrete curbs and driveway approaches.
During this period, to help manage traffic flow, one lane of northbound and one lane of southbound traffic will be preserved, along with a center left turn lane—except during paving operations when the center left turn lane will become unavailable. Additionally, "Westbound traffic on Joe Mann Boulevard will be detoured to Elisenal Drive and Commerce Drive," as detailed by WNEM. However, eastbound traffic on Joe Mann Boulevard will be maintained throughout the construction phase.
