The Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office said George Santiago Jr., owner of 'The Garage Door Guy,' was arrested for allegedly taking about $42,600 from customers. Victims paid in full for garage door services that were not provided, as reported by the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office.

The District Attorney's Bureau of Investigation, working with local law enforcement, arrested Santiago last Thursday, in Modesto without incident. A loaded firearm was found in his vehicle, and a later search of his home uncovered more firearms, suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, as stated by the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office.

Santiago was arrested on charges including grand theft, theft by false pretenses, possession of controlled substances with a firearm, and weapons violations. According to the Stanislaus County District Attorney on their Facebook page, licensed contractors cannot charge more than 10% of the job cost or $1,000 before starting work.
