A Modesto neighborhood became the scene of a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting that occurred last Monday morning, August 11. The incident, which left 30-year-old Felipe Ramirez dead, took place during a large gathering on the 300 block of Olivero Road, as reported in a social media update from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were called to the scene around 4:40 a.m., after reports of gunfire were made. Upon their arrival, they found Ramirez with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he was later pronounced dead from his injuries. The sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit has taken the lead on the case, which still, seems to have more questions than answers.
Authorities have made an appeal to the public, seeking information related to the incident. Detective Rodriguez is the point of contact for anyone who might have witnessed the shooting or possesses relevant information. The sheriff's office has also provided a means for anonymous tips through Stanislaus County Area Crime Stoppers. Over 100 individuals were reported to have attended the party, which has complicated the investigation due to the number of potential witnesses and accounts.
