The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is making lane changes at the Interstate 64 and Route 141 interchange. Drivers should be aware that these changes may affect their usual routes over the next few weeks.
Starting the night of September 2, till the early morning of September 5, MoDOT will be reconfiguring lanes on southbound Route 141 by the I-64 interchange. It’s going down each night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., with up to two lanes closing for restriping, as reported by the department itself. Their crews are getting busy laying down new lane stripes and shuffling traffic rightward to plant a barrier wall along the southbound left lane, stretching from the westbound I-64 ramp signal all the way to the South Woods Mill roundabout entrance. Even despite the shuffle, access to eastbound I-64 from Route 141 will stay open.
The left lane will remain closed until mid-September as part of an interchange construction project scheduled to continue through late 2025. The project aims to improve traffic flow, but drivers should expect lane closures, detours, and construction activity in the meantime.
MoDOT advises drivers to stay alert, follow posted speed limits, and watch for workers and barriers. The department notes that the improvements are intended to reduce congestion and improve safety once completed.
