Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will join local housing agencies for a ribbon-cutting ceremony today at 10:30 a.m. in Montgomery Village to mark the opening of 20 affordable townhomes. The project is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland (HFHMM), the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC), and the Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs (DHCA).

According to Montgomery County’s official website, the townhomes were developed after HOC sold the properties to Habitat, with financial support from DHCA. The homes will be available to households earning between 35% and 63% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The ribbon-cutting will take place at 9277 Chadburn Place, Montgomery Village.

Elrich will be joined by HFHMM President and CEO Jeff Dee, HOC President and CEO Chelsea Andrews, Montgomery County Council President Kate Stewart, and Councilmember Dawn Luedtke of District 7.
