Residents of Montgomery County should mark their calendars and prepare for an evening stuck indoors as the Department of Health & Human Services takes to the streets to combat mosquitoes. To control the adult mosquito population, spraying is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, from 8 PM to 11 PM, weather permitting, according to a press release issued by the county. The operation will cover areas within specific boundaries in the county, lined by Old Welsh Road, Easton Road, Rockwell Road, Rothley Avenue, Hamilton Avenue, and Woodland Road.
The Health Department advises those living within the designated spray area to take precautions during and after the treatment. They should remain inside their homes, shut windows, and turn off the ventilation systems that could bring in outside air, "for the duration of the spray plus 30 minutes afterward," the press release stated. With safety in mind, the Community is encouraged to heed these guidelines as a measure to reduce any potential risks associated with the spraying process.
