Upon their arrival at the scene around 11:04 p.m., First District officers discovered the victim, later identified as Akim Toure of Riverdale, MD, unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the quick transport and the exhaustive efforts of DC Fire and EMS, Toure's injuries proved fatal at an area hospital shortly after.
