In a significant sweep against criminal activity in Arapahoe County, the local Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with several federal agencies, has completed an extensive nine-month investigation targeting the Tren de Aragua gang. The operation, headquartered at the Ivy Crossing Apartments, was spearheaded by Sheriff Tyler Brown and included the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), among others.
The campaign yielded notable results, with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office announcing a series of 30 indictments, the confiscation of over 60 weapons, and the seizure of substantial quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, and tusi, a synthetic drug combo. Caught off the streets were these weapons as a testament to the operation's effectiveness in disrupting illicit activities.
In acknowledging the efforts of all involved, Sheriff Brown highlighted the positive developments for the Ivy Crossing community. "I want to acknowledge the tremendous effort and focus placed on addressing crime and restoring safety in the Ivy Crossing neighborhood. Together, we have seen the impact true collaboration can bring. This community has seen a 75% reduction in calls for service compared to 2023 — that is life-changing for the people in this community," he said, as per the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's statement reflects an underlying commitment to enhancing the safety and well-being of residents through concerted law enforcement efforts.
