A crash in Murfreesboro this morning involving a motorcycle and a car led to the closure of a section of NW Broad Street, causing delays for motorists in the area. According to WSMV, Murfreesboro Fire and medical personnel quickly responded to the scene at the intersection of NW Broad Street and Ven Cleve Lane, by the railroad tracks, where they discovered the two vehicles had collided.
The Murfreesboro Police Department immediately shut down the traffic to thoroughly investigate and to quickly try to clear the scene. The closure lasted until approximately 9:15 a.m., as indicated by the reports. At least one person was injured in the incident, although details on their condition were not made available at the time. Rutherford Source reported on the incident as well, confirming that there had been injuries without providing specifics on the number of individuals affected or the severity of the injuries.
Commuters found themselves caught in the resultant delays, with advice to seek alternative routes or to brace for slower progress through the area. Though the crash led to a stressful morning for many, the road was reopened later on, signaling a return to normal traffic flow. An update from the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department via a post on social media notified the public that all lanes were back in operation, with a pointed reminder that the cause of the crash remained under investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials hope findings will help prevent similar accidents in the future.
