A substantial quantity of methamphetamine, weighing in at nearly 30 pounds, was seized after a traffic stop conducted by the Coconino County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) in northern Arizona. The incident unfolded on Highway 89 near Flagstaff during the early hours of August 10, according to AZ Daily Sun. A K-9 unit pulled over a vehicle for an unspecified traffic violation around 1:24 a.m. and discovered the narcotics.

The sheriff's office stated that the driver, identified as Jesus Armando Velazquez Bojorquez, aged 28, granted permission for the search, which revealed the drugs packed in plastic wrap within a suitcase. The AZ Daily Sun report includes images released by the CCSO showing the substances in question. Authorities have charged Velazquez Bojorquez with transportation of dangerous drugs for sale, a Class 2 felony in the state of Arizona.

"During the traffic stop, the deputy received consent to search the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed 29.88 pounds of methamphetamine," the Coconino County Sheriff's Office conveyed in a statement, as per FOX 10 Phoenix. Following the discovery, Velazquez Bojorquez was booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility.
