A recent addition to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, K9 Falco, has made his mark by tracking down an armed robbery suspect. The Sheriff's Office reported via their official Facebook page that the 29-year-old suspect Garry Ward was apprehended after a 21-year-old woman called 911 on August 8, informing authorities she had been robbed at gunpoint near Elkhorn Boulevard and Thomas Drive.

The alleged robbery led to a quick response from sheriff's deputies, who immediately surrounded the area and initiated a K9 search with Falco. Just making his debut into the field after completing training, K9 Falco didn't take long before locating Ward, hiding in a nearby backyard, as explained on the social media post.

Falco, certified with POST since August 1, has thus nailed his first arrest with the capture of Ward. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, after being found by Falco, Ward was taken into custody without further incident. Medical staff cleared the suspect for incarceration before booking him into the Sacramento County Main Jail, with bail set at $1 million and a court appearance scheduled for August 22.
