Las Vegas residents and visitors will soon be able to enjoy a new addition to the city's growing trails system, as construction is set to begin on a shared use trail along Summerlin Parkway. Starting on Monday, August 18, 2025, Las Vegas Paving will embark on the project which aims to illuminate and improve pedestrian access between Rampart Boulevard and the Clark County 215 Beltway, according to city officials.
The endeavor, which includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge and an underpass, is a piece of a larger vision that's been over two decades in the making—connecting the Bonanza/Angel Park Trail to the Beltway Trail network; though most of the heavy-lifting won't hinder the ebb and flow of vehicular traffic, drivers can expect some lane restrictions on Anasazi Drive, Town Center Drive, and Rampart as work on pedestrian crossings unfolds, with the exception of some disruptions when they start drilling into Crestdale Lane for the underpass. With the $26 million budget sourced from federal and Regional Transportation Commission tax funds, the city anticipates a completion timeline of about 18 months.
For over 20 years, the city of Las Vegas has been actively developing a robust trails system, and this project plays a crucial role in linking multiple community trails, offering residents an expansive interconnected network of pathways, as outlined in the Trail Master Plan.
