
A two-alarm fire broke out in a residential area on Kaniau Place in Waipahu on Wednesday. The fire, reported at 4:21 p.m., involved three small abandoned buildings. According to the Honolulu Fire Department, 10 units and 36 personnel responded to the scene.
Firefighters arrived at 4:30 p.m. to find the structures fully engulfed in flames. They established a water source and brought the fire under control by 4:51 p.m. Crews searched the buildings and confirmed they were unoccupied. Firefighters then used overhaul techniques to extinguish any hidden fires and prevent the blaze from spreading, as stated by the Honolulu Fire Department.
The Honolulu Fire Department reported that a fire was fully extinguished at 6:18 p.m. with no injuries to firefighters or civilians. An investigator has been assigned to determine the cause and origin of the fire and to prepare damage estimates.
