On Tuesday, in North San Juan, Terry Lorraine Harkins, 31, was stopped on Sweetland Rd. for a broken brake light and missing license plate light. During a search, deputies found drugs and a firearm, and Harkins was arrested on multiple drug charges, as stated by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office.
The Nevada County Sheriff's Office reported that Harkins did not have a valid driver’s license, insurance, or vehicle registration. When K9 Riggs, a dog trained to detect drugs, arrived, it alerted to possible narcotics. Deputies then found many individually packaged substances in a search.
According to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, Harkins was arrested after deputies found suspected methamphetamine, other packaged drugs, and an unregistered Glock 17 pistol loaded with 31 rounds. He was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on charges including possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and driving without a license.
