
The New York Police Department is actively seeking information about a suspect involved in a recent burglary in Brooklyn. A social media post from NYPD Crimestoppers states that the incident occurred early in the morning on August 7. At about 4:40 a.m., surveillance footage shows an individual entering an apartment building near Ocean Parkway and Avenue M, within the jurisdiction of the 66th Precinct.
The suspect is alleged to have forcibly pried open a resident's mailbox once inside the building and removed a checkbook. After the act, the individual promptly fled on foot. The direction of escape, however, remains uncertain. The Crimestoppers post has made a call to action, urging anyone with information to directly message @nypdtips or to anonymously call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
While the identity of the burglar is yet unknown, authorities are rigorously combing through evidence to uncover any potential leads that would lead to rapidly apprehend the suspect. The NYPD has not released any description of the suspect or further details on the crime but continues to gather and scrutinize evidence.
