
An early-morning blaze in Carroll County has claimed the life of one individual and severely injured another, leaving investigators to unravel the events that led to the tragedy. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, emergency services responded to the incident around 2 a.m. at a residence located where Daniel Road meets Daniel Drive in the Villa Rica neighborhood.
The arriving firefighters encountered the house completely consumed by fire, and despite their efforts, a portion of the structure succumbed to the inferno and partially collapsed medics transported one victim to Grady Memorial Hospital, with their condition remaining undisclosed, while crews continued to douse remaining embers to prevent further flare-ups.
As of now, the identities of the affected individuals have not been disclosed, and the cause of the fire remains under active investigation. Atlanta News First reported that the incident occurred just off of Daniel Road, and the fire was initially reported shortly after 2 a.m. today. Following the containment of the fire, which was achieved close to 4 a.m., Daniel Road faced temporary closure in both directions as authorities remained on-site carrying out their investigative and clean-up duties.
