An Infiniti SUV also became involved when the driver swerved off the right side of the road, presumably in an effort to evade the unfolding crash, as documented by WBTV. One driver was killed in the tragic event, while another driver was taken to the hospital; the conditions of the two other drivers have not been released.
Further details pertaining to the identity of the deceased and the injured parties have not been released pending notification of next of kin. WSOCTV confirmed the incident, stating, "Police say four vehicles were involved," which aligns with the reports from other local news outlets.
The circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation by local authorities. South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to examine the crash scene and gather testimonies from witnesses, in order, to piece together the chain of events that led to this fatal collision. The community has been reminded to exhibit extra caution while driving at intersections and to remain vigilant for vehicles that may be stopping to turn.
