The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. near West Boulevard and Remount Road. WBTV first reported the shooting, adding that MEDIC transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.
Running into the night's dark embrace, multiple agencies responded to the shooting report around 2 a.m., WCNC detailed, noting that one individual was taken to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. According to WSOCTV, MEDIC found the victim, who suffered from a gunshot wound, in the 1700 block of West Boulevard shortly before 3 a.m. The injuries were confirmed as life-threatening, although no further updates on the victim's condition have been provided.
