
The Orlando Police Department is making a renewed appeal to the public, seeking assistance in a cold case homicide that clings to the conscience of the community. More than two years have passed since the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Nyion Ponteen at the Metro Place Apartments occurred, yet the case remains unresolved, a specter of unfinished justice.
According to ClickOrlando, the tragic event unfolded on July 10, 2023, at the apartment complex situated at 1049 S. Kirkman Road, where reports of gunfire summoned police. When they arrived, they found Ponteen dead at the scene.
The photo, captured during the investigation, is believed to show the suspected shooter. According to a statement reported by WFTV, police are urging anyone who may recognize the individual to come forward.
