An incident of horrific domestic violence has left two women dead in Orlando, as reported by local authorities. The Orlando Police Department has confirmed that a shooting that took place around 5 p.m. yesterday at the Village Springs Apartments on Cinderlane Parkway, just north of Lake Orlando, resulted in two fatalities.
According to WFTV, officers arriving at the gruesome scene discovered two women with gunshot wounds. In a tragic turn, despite the speedy transportation of the victims to Orlando Regional Medical Center, their injuries proved fatal, and both succumbed.
The suspect, identified as Eliette De Jesus Marquez, had reportedly been in a relationship with one of the victims, while the other woman was her friend. After committing the act, Marquez fled on foot from the scene, says the Orlando police. An extensive search ensued, subsequently leading to his arrest.
"Preliminary investigation indicates one of the victims found at the scene was in a relationship with the suspect," OPD mentioned, as WESH reported. Marquez now faces two counts of first-degree murder, tethered to the loss that has shattered the community's sense of safety.
