
Early this morning in South Seattle, a woman in her 30s was struck and killed by an SUV while crossing train tracks near the 9800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Seattle Fire Department. After the initial collision, a sedan hit the SUV, causing a secondary crash, as reported by the Seattle Police Department.
Around 5:00 a.m., patrol officers and emergency crews arrived at the scene. According to the Seattle Police Department, a woman was hit by a southbound SUV after crossing the tracks. The SUV was then struck from behind by a sedan, causing it to stop partially on the train tracks. Police closed off the area, affecting southbound traffic and train tracks. Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives are investigating the scene.
Two young men were involved in a crash that resulted in a woman’s death. Both drivers were checked for drugs and showed no signs of impairment. They are cooperating with police and have not been charged. The men had minor injuries. The vehicles are inoperable and will be towed.
