Philadelphia Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a robbery attempt in the 9th District. The incident happened on the 20XX block of South Street around 11:36 p.m. on Friday last week, when a 35-year-old woman was assaulted during an attempt to steal her phone, according to the Philadelphia Police Department release.
The suspect struck the woman with a bottle and pushed her down before fleeing westbound on South Street. He is described as a male with a brown complexion, about 5’6” tall, wearing a black t-shirt with a red devil symbol and black pants. The victim was taken to Jefferson University Hospital and is in stable condition.
Philadelphia Police Department urge anyone with information to contact the South Detectives Division at 215-686-3013 or call 215-686-TIPS to report anonymously. Authorities caution against approaching the suspect and advise calling 911 if he is seen.
