The Pickett County Sheriff's Office recently announced the successful completion of a drug indictment roundup, marking the culmination of a six-month investigation into narcotics distribution within the area. According to a social media post by the Sheriff's Office, the operation led to multiple arrests on Monday, targeting individuals charged with drug-related and theft offenses. With the execution of 10 arrest warrants and a total of 17 indictments, the law enforcement community emphasizes its ongoing commitment to dismantling the local drug trade.
Among those arrested were Patrick Wayne Yoder, Darrell Wayne Huff, Charles Eugene Schmidt-Eldridge, Daniel L. Bilbrey, and Richard Lee James, all hit with charges related to the manufacture, sale, and delivery of Schedule II Methamphetamine and other substances. Working closely with TBI, TBI Task Force Agents, and the Livingston Police Department, the authorities arrested locals of varying ages, signaling the vast reach of narcotics across Pickett County. Serving existing inmates with indictments indicates the operation's extended reach beyond just those free within the community.
Sheriff Dowdy, representing the tenacity of his department, explicitly stated through a Facebook post, "This roundup is another step in our continued fight against drugs in Pickett County. These arrests should send a clear message: if you are involved in the illegal activity you will be held accountable."
