A workplace confrontation took a violent turn last Friday when a man was shot in the neck, allegedly by a coworker in Pierson, as per the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred outside a residence on Glenhaven Avenue and has sparked an ongoing investigation by local authorities.
Deputies responded around 6:20 p.m. to the scene where the victim, an adult male, was discovered in the driver's seat of a minivan with a gunshot wound, WESH reported. A deputy was reportedly able to apply pressure to the wound, aiding the victim until additional rescue units arrived. Despite the seriousness of his injury, the victim was transported to a hospital, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
The shooter, identified by investigators as the victim's coworker, approached the minivan, fired at the man, and fled the scene, according to WFTV. No arrest has been made as of yet, and the search for the suspect continues with sheriffs expressing urgency in locating the individual responsible.
