A man has died in the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood of Pittsburgh after a violent incident last evening. According to WPXI, police were called to the scene on the 6900 block of Wiltsie Street at around 10:30 p.m. following reports of gunfire. When authorities arrived, they discovered a man with two gunshot wounds – one in the chest and one in the leg.
Witnesses at the scene informed the officers that the victim was not only shot, but was also struck by a car afterwards. Despite the immediate first aid provided by the officers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter. The identity of the man had not been released, nor had any suspects been taken into custody at the time of reporting, as Pittsburgh police continue their investigation into the matter.
Further details shared by WTAE added that the man was found lying in the street outside by responding Pittsburgh Public Safety officers. This information seems to corroborate the narrative that the shooting was followed by an incident involving a vehicle. The man's death is currently being handled as a crime scene and an ongoing investigation.
