
Police said a 19-year-old man, Carlos Romero, was shot and killed during a confrontation on the 500 block of Duck Street in Pleasanton last Friday night. KSAT reported that Romero was walking with his ex-girlfriend and her brother when they were approached by her current boyfriend, 18-year-old Daniel Gonzales, leading to the altercation.
Police said Romero was shot during a fight with 18-year-old Daniel Gonzales and 19-year-old Seth Valenzuela, his ex-girlfriend’s brother, and was found with multiple gunshot wounds at Duck Street and Ohio Street. Gonzales and Valenzuela were arrested on charges of murder and tampering with evidence. Officers recovered two firearms with extended magazines, gloves, and cellphones a few blocks from the scene. "The release said the case remains active and further charges may be filed," according to KSAT.
Police recovered two weapons, gloves, and cellphones during a search of a home on the 800 block of North Main Street, items that were later found at the intersection of Franklin and Martin, as mentioned by KENS 5. Gonzales and Valenzuela remain in custody on charges related to the shooting of Romero, and a 17-year-old ex-girlfriend has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. The Pleasanton Police Department is continuing its investigation, and no further updates have been released.
