
Police are searching for a man accused of inappropriately touching a 19-year-old woman at a subway station in Prospect Heights. The incident occurred last Friday around 6:30 p.m., after which the suspect was seen fleeing into the 7th Avenue station, according to a report by the Brooklyn Paper.
The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, last seen wearing a light green T-shirt and carrying a gray bag. While the woman was not physically injured, the Brooklyn Paper notes that the incident contributes to a reported increase in transit-related crimes within Park Slope's 78th Precinct, which has seen a 25% rise as of last Sunday. Additionally, rape cases in the precinct have increased by 200% compared to the same period last year.
The NYPD is encouraging anyone with information to come forward, assuring anonymity for those who submit tips through the Crime Stoppers program.
