In the wake of a devastating outbreak of gun violence in Atlanta, Quavo, renowned artist and a former member of Migos, has taken concrete steps to support the victims through his Rocket Foundation. The foundation unveiled an "emergency trauma therapy fund" targeted at providing mental health assistance to those affected by the multiple shootings that peppered the city from Thursday to Monday, as reported by WALB News.

The spree of violence claimed the lives of two individuals, including 33-year-old Aaron Hines, a youth football coach, and an esteemed figure at the Offender Alumni Association, and 18-year-old Deshawn Johnson, involved with the Rocket Foundation’s youth programs. The Rocket Foundation stressed in a statement, "Nothing can replace those lost, but together we can help our community heal in this trying time," highlighting the depth of the tragedy within the local community, according to WALB News.

According to a report by FOX 5 Atlanta, the Rocket Foundation is dedicated to providing "real-time mental health support for youth and families devastated by violence." The newly established Therapy Support Fund intends to offer trauma-informed mental health services, prioritizing those directly impacted by these recent events in addition to supporting frontline workers tackling the cycle of violence in these neighborhoods.

The non-profit, named in honor of Quavo's late nephew and Migos collaborator, Takeoff is actively raising funds for the initiative, and urging the public to contribute, demonstrating a model of leadership in addressing urban trauma. The Foundation is collaborating with local organizations such as HOPE Hustlers and the Offender Alumni Association to spearhead violence intervention, and mentorship programs. Contributions for the Therapy Support Fund can be made through the Pledge website.
