Radiance Technologies, a prominent defense contractor, is set to inject $370.65 million into North Louisiana's economy by building a high-security microchip packaging facility in Lincoln Parish. This substantial investment aims to shore up national security while simultaneously fortifying local economic prospects and spurring innovation. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, in a statement obtained by Opportunity Louisiana, expressed that North Louisiana is not only living up to its legacy of defending the nation but also stepping into a pivotal role as a primary center for advanced manufacturing. This expansion will see the new 40,000-square-foot facility rise north of the Ruston Sports Complex, accommodating a range of operations from R&D to the design and fabrication of microchips. Louisiana Economic Development, the City of Ruston, Louisiana Tech University, and the Louisiana Tech University Foundation have been driving forces behind this development, as part of the state's "all-of-Louisiana" approach to fostering economic growth. Louisiana Tech, a university with a strong affiliation with Radiance Technologies, is expected to expand its research initiatives and provide more practical learning experiences for students as a result of this enterprise. Tech President Jim Henderson stated that the facility would be an embodiment of Tech’s innovation in cybersecurity and advanced manufacturing fields, as expressed in an interview with Opportunity Louisiana.

To facilitate the project, LED is earmarked to provide a '$20 million in matching dollars through a performance-based grant to the Louisiana Tech University Foundation, specifically for procuring equipment at the new manufacturing plant, whereas $17 million is bridled for upgrading research infrastructure and creating specialized training programs at Louisiana Tech. Mayor Ronny Walker, commenting on the alliance, affirmed Ruston's eagerness to welcome Radiance Technologies to the Secure Business Park, as per Opportunity Louisiana.
