The City of Raleigh Museum will host “Family Fun Day Zines!” on September 13. The free event is for children ages 3 to 15 and will introduce them to DIY publishing by creating their own zines on themes such as animals or personal history. Parents are welcome to join their children in the activities, as per the City of Raleigh's announcement.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the museum is set to transform into a hub of imagination where children can come together to not just learn, but also to freely express their artistic sides. This hands-on activity is designed to not only entertain but also to educate, nudging young minds towards the joys of self-publishing. All required materials are provided by the museum, though participants are encouraged to bring any personal supplies they wish to incorporate into their zine-masterpieces.
According to the City of Raleigh's official announcement, the workshop offers a "fun day for all ages," where making a zine could be the beginning of a love affair with art and literature. Whether it's through sticking, pasting, drawing or writing, every child is given the carte blanche to bring their own ideas to life on paper.
The "Family Fun Day Zines!" event is part of the City of Raleigh Museum’s interactive and educational programming. The free event gives children the chance to create their own zines and is open to families in the Raleigh community.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to mark their calendars and not to miss out on this unique family-friendly event. Remember, it's an open invitation to everyone in the Raleigh community looking to spend a Saturday filled with creativity and laughter.
