
Rancho Cordova residents were recently awakened by unusual nighttime sounds — not a typical disturbance, but a young raccoon trapped in a backyard fence. Neighbors quickly called Animal Services, and officers responded with care and ingenuity, safely freeing the animal.
According to the City of Rancho Cordova, the raccoon was transported to a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center and is expected to recover. Officials praised the community's quick response, highlighting Rancho Cordova’s commitment to coexistence with local wildlife.
